Levi Smith

Dr. Levi Smith is the owner and veterinarian of Genetic Visions Veterinary Services, based in Newville, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Smith purchased the practice from Dr. Jim Evans in 2017 after a three-year partnership.

By providing a wide range of reproductive services, Dr. Smith and his staff strive to be a one-stop shop for their clients. In addition to providing mobile embryo services via their mobile laboratory to producers in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio, they also offer donor housing at their Newville facility for up to 40 head of females to provide conventional embryo transfer services or ovum pick-up with in vitro fertilization. By collaborating with local recipient herds, they enable their clients to purchase either a weaned embryo calf or a 90-day pregnant recipient. Each year, they transfer around 1800 fresh or frozen embryos and aspirate or flush around 600 donors.

Dr. Smith is passionate about using his veterinary practice to help the hard-working, humble people he works with in the beef industry. He shared, “I love the daily challenges with ‘problem donors’ and making my clients’ goals a reality with that newborn embryo calf.”
